GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Operation and programming of industrial robots and welder/fitter duties as required.
THIS OPENING IS ON FLEX SHIFT- FRIDAY-SUNDAY 5am-5pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sets up and operates industrial robot to weld metal components used for production parts or tooling, according to specifications.
• Reads work order and specifications to determine prescribed setup and operation.
• Visually performs quality assurance inspections of product before passing the product to the next work center.
• Mounts and positions work piece in the fixture manually or using hoist.
• Loads programs into the controller.
• Inspects finished work piece for conformance to specifications.
• May perform machine maintenance or any other duties as deemed by the department supervisor.
• Cut, prepare surfaces or components, lay out, position, fit, tack, weld, and finish a variety of parts or products following prescribed methods and specifications.
• Must be able to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
• Select appropriate welding processes for the work involved and regulate gas, current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion of metals.
• Will be required to travel and attend robotics training at an offsite location for extended periods of time.
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to pass basic work related aptitude tests in mathematics and Microsoft Excel.
• Must have a basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, diagnostics and networking, file transfer & editing software.
• Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Must be able to do own layouts, have previous forklift and overhead crane experience, and pass the JCI weld test.
• Must possess the necessary hand tools of the trade.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Trade school or community college course work desirable.
• Minimum of five years welding experience in an industrial manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
